Delays and changes

Sure, with a title like "Delays and changes" you would be expecting bad news, but it's not really bad at all. Just bear with me for a couple of lines while I reassure you.

First off, Kim Braun is not scoring On the Cutting Room Floor. "What happened!? Was there an uber big fight?" Well, it's almost that dramatic, but not with all that negative energy. Kim and her husband Steve found out that they will be adopting two children later this month, so she's understandably got her hands full! I just want to take a moment and wish Kim and Steve and their newly expanded family the best of luck!

Okay, exclamation points usage is now over for this entry.

So, Kim had done a lot of leg work on getting ready to score the movie, including translating our meetings into cue sheets. Then, when she found out the big news, she contacted Jon Marbry, a fellow composer, and arranged a transfer of the work. We had a meeting between Jon, Kim and myself and found out that not only do I think Jon will do a great job on this movie, but that he's also been retained by Jonathan Northover to score the short he wrote, Taxi (which I directed). Small world indeed! (it's an upside down "i")

Now Jon, Gio (effects and composer for part of OTCRF) and I just had a progress meeting yesterday, and everything sounds great. Where are the delays? Well, with the change in composer, we decided August 6th would not work as a start date for final audio mixing. So, Sept 3rd is the new mixing date, and we're still aiming for a mid to late September premiere.

Also ... very soon ... there will be a new podcast!

Oh, and a trailer.
